Email Key Areas

Carlene Kelsey

Do you keep in touch with your email list on a regular basis? I know, I know, we all need to get better at being consistent and providing valuable content.
These are the key email areas to concentrate on when emailing your list.

1) The subject line and the length
2) Be sure to personalize the email using the first name (if you have it) or the email address
3) The message type. Is this a “how to” do something email, or perhaps just it’s a video email, or a follow up from a previous email.
4) Your call to action. What do you want the reader to do next?

1) The subject line and length. If this line does not catch the reader’s attention, then you are dead in the water. They simply won’t open the email and your message does not get read.

2) Personalizing the email. Most email marketing autoresponders have the ability to enter a personalized greeting. I suggest you use it to get the reader’s attention.
And…. it looks much less likely to look like spam, so the chances of the email being opened and read are much higher.

3) The Message Type. There are many types of emails, welcome emails, broadcast messages, promotional, follow ups and more. Be sure that you have a variety of different types of messages to keep your readers engaged.

4) The Call to Action. With each email you will want to have a different outcome. So you must make it easy for them to “take the next step.” Include clickable images, and clickable links and give precise instructions for what the reader should do next.

If you concentrate on these 4 key areas, your email conversions should definitely improve.
